Comic Book Recommendation of the Week


PRIDE OF BAGHDAD
by Brian K. Vaughan and Niko Henrichon.

Anyone who enjoys emotional, character-driven stories (even if they aren’t human characters) paired with amazing art should read this one. I enjoyed it thoroughly. Runner-up: THE ESCAPISTS #1, which didn’t come out this week, but I had never heard of it before yesterday. Hopefully the next two issues are just as good.

    I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally wanted to pick this up last week, but my comic store just got in several thousand new back issues and they were all $0.25 a piece. So instead of getting Pride of Baghdad like I wanted to, I got about 40 old comics, including just about all of Chris Bachalo's Generation X run. If all goes to plan, I'll read Pride of Baghdad this week.

    That's awesome. Chris Bachalo's Generation X run was indeed a great comic.
